The Federal Government according to LiveSchoolNews has announced that
all Nigerian students who desire to travel by air get 50 percent
reduction in flight ticket.
Speaking while inaugurating the Students’ Union Government of the
University of Abuja, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on
Youth and Student Matters, Comr. Jude Imagwe said the initiative was
part of the government’s efforts to make live meaningful for students.
According to him, FG would partner with all airline operators in the
country to consider any identified student, who chooses to board their
plane by not collecting the same amount collected from the working
class.
He said if the 'I Fly Student' idea worked in Ghana, “it will also work in Nigeria.”
Imagwe maintained that the on-going transformation in youth development
sector of the present administration was more than a mere political
rhetoric and superficial, calling on other tiers of government, as well
as policy makers to ensure realization of all efforts geared towards
youth and women empowerment.
