7 ways to be more productive at work

Say goodbye to unhealthy work ethics as we provide you with these work tips to propel you to even greater heights

Any honest worker will attest to the fact that maintaining productivity is no walk in the park. Monotony and fatigue are just some of the factors that can begin to make anyone become counterproductive.

Moreso, as the end of the year approaches, its not uncommon to find folks beginning to slack off owing to a long year of almost-constant activity. But its never too late, or early for some much needed motivation.
As we begin the march to the end of the year, and the start of a new one, here's 7 ways you can greatly improve your productivity for a happier and healthier work life.
  1. Plan your time/make a to-do list: A wise man once said, 'he who fails to plan, plans to fail'. Planning is key to any successful venture so do yourself a favour and incorporate this into your work life. Lay out your goals for the week and then break them down to daily goals. As you go along, you can cross them off your list. You'd be amazed at how much better organised you'll be and in turn, how much more you'll achieve when you start planning your time.
  2. Prioritise: Having identified what you need to get done, the next step is deciding what needs to be done when. It goes without saying that the most pressing deadlines should be met first and others following.
  3. Start the day with purpose: Arrive your desk with a clear idea of what you want to achieve and dive straight into it. Sometimes there could be a tendency to want to catch up with colleagues or do a round-up of the morning headlines but this can sometimes prove to be distracting and redundant. Start your day off immediately and then you can take quick breaks in-between.
  4. Ward off distractions: You'd be surprised how much time goes on responding to seemingly quick messages on your phone, receiving phone calls or a quick snoop on Facebook takes. Try to identify the things that provide the most distraction for you and do away with them - put your phones on silent or phone-call only mode and leave the social media snooping till the end of the day.
  5. Work with a time-frame: Set goals to be achieved within a time-frame to help boost your productivity even more. Also to spice things even more, you can set up a reward system of sorts for yourself when you achieve a goal. 10 minutes surfing your favourite site or a 5-minute call with a loved one could be little rewards which will provide you with a much-needed kick.
  6. Say no to procrastination: This can be a major work buzz kill. Putting things off that you'll still do eventually is not healthy for your work life at all. Tackle everything in a timely manner.
  7. Rest: The last but by no means the least important thing is rest. Maximise your weekends by getting as much rest as you can as this will energise you and leave you feeling ready to take on the world the following week.

Cynthia Morgan Talks About Her Relationship With Jude Okoye And P-Square

cynth

She has established herself as the new queen in Nigerian dance-hall music and has started getting awards here and there.
In a recent with The Nation,  Cynthia Morgan revealed details about her relationship with Jude Okoye who signed her and the P-Square brothers.
Read excerpts below: –

How old are you now?

I am 23 and still holding it down..

Every time you appear on Television or release pictures for the media you exude s*x. Even in your lyrics, you do the same thing, so much that one will look at you and say she can’t do without s*x, how often do you have s*x?

Hahaha… I know I am sexy but that doesn’t mean I am an addict.

You were quoted somewhere to have said you will exceed the musical achievements of the likes of P’Square, Tuface, D’banj and other new generation pathfinders of Nigerian music. With what you have achieved so far, will you say you are on course?

I’m one hundred percent confident that I am on course. And I think there is no young artiste who should not aspire to be greater than these guys that have open doors internationally for us. Take for instance, when the likes of P’Square started, there was no semblance of structure. It was war before you will be heard outside the shores of Nigeria. But the case is different in our own era. I just began and I already have a humongous fan base in countries like Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa and other foreign countries. Even the twins (P’Square) are proud of what I have been able to achieve in no time. The reality is that this is just the beginning.

When North Side Entertainment came along to sign you and you realised you were going to be under the same management with P’Square, did you not feel or are you not feeling any pressure to deliver?

A whole lot of people have been asking me ‘how have you been able to cope with these guys that are known globally and I tell you what I say to them: ‘I have never been under the shadow of P’Square from day one and even when it was time to break out into the market, I did not fly under their wings.’ I never did that baby P’Square thing. Anywhere they are, I will be there. It is a mentality my people are proud of. I just let my work speak – not that Nigerians should listen to me because P’Square said so. In fact a whole lot of people do not know I am with P’Square.
The pressure is from me, because I work, knowing they are the biggest in Africa and I cannot afford to be less than that. That is the only pressure I feel. People have been asking, ‘when will you do a song with P’Square since you have them at your beck and call?’ And I tell them I am not a baby P’Square. I am working and they are working. I know when they listen to my materials they are the ones that will say Cynthia, you no won put us for your album?

Are you that confident?

Yes of course, they must indicate interest first. In fact they need to beg me to be in my album and I will have to see if it is possible. I am not just going to feature them because I have access to them or because we are under the same management.

You work with three very attractive men in your label. Have you ever experienced any form of s*xual harassment or don’t you have a crush on any of them?

Paul and Peter are like my big brothers while Jude (our manager) is my father. So, there is just no way I can develop a s*xual relationship with any of them, because we are one big happy family.
The level where our business has got to is such that they don’t see me as a fine girl and I do not find them attractive too. If them wan babe I go help them find.  Please no let their wives see this one oh. That’s a joke o. What am I even saying? If I sleep with any member of P’Square, it will amount to nothing short of inc*st.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES WEDNESDAY, 4TH FEBRUARY. SUPERNATURAL ENABLEMENT

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).

Before Jesus’ ascension, He said to His disciples, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49). Then, in our opening verse, He said to them, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you....” Why is this important? It’s because there’s no Christianity without the power of the Holy Spirit! What is power?

The word translated “power” in Acts 1:8 is the Greek, “dunamis,” which means inherent power; the dynamic ability to effect changes. It also means wonder-working ability or miracle-working ability. It refers to the ability to do the impossible. If you’re born again and have received the Holy Spirit, you’ve received the ability to do the impossible—a supernatural ability! It’s the creative ability of God, for the Bible says He created all things by the power of the Holy Spirit. Now, that same Holy Spirit lives in you. Therefore, you have the divine enablement to accomplish any task, and change hopeless situations.

With the Holy Spirit, you can never be defeated or disadvantaged. If you want the glory of God in your life, if you want to walk in dominion over devils, sickness, disease, infirmities and death, then the Holy Spirit is all you need. His presence in your life makes you indomitable! Like Paul, be bold to say, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13).
Never say or think that you’re helpless or ordinary; not when the Holy Spirit lives in you! He’s the power of God, and the power-giver. Walk with Him, and it’ll be glory, victory, success, excellence and miracles for you all the way!

THEME:
REASON FOR MIRACLES
Memorise:
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because
thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are
they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
John 20:29
Bible Reading: John 11:43-45
43:
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud
voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44:
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and
foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about
with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and
let him go.
45:
Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and
had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on
him.

Bible in one year
Jeremiah 28-29
Acts 20:17-35

Message:
A miracle can be defined as an extraordinary event
or development that is inexplicable by natural or
scientific laws and is attributed to divine agency.
Miracles defy natural and scientific laws because
such laws are in suspension or overridden
supernaturally for a miracle to take place. The
question then is: why will God go to such great
lengths to perform a miracle? I pray that God will go
to am length to give you your desired miracle today
in the Name of Jesus.

The Bible offers many reasons as to why God would
go the extra mile to perform miracles. God performs
miracles so that people may believe in Him (Exodus
4:1-9). In some cases, He performs miracles out of
love and compassion for human suffering (Luke
7:11-15).

Sometimes it is to authenticate a prophet
as a true servant of God (Acts 2:22). Some other
reasons for miracles, common to most of the records
of the miraculous in the Bible include: strong faith in
God, hopelessness, helplessness and desperation. If
you are desperate for a miracle because your case
is hopelessly helpless, the Almighty God will rise on
your behalf and give you a mighty miracle today in
the Name of Jesus.

Miracles are real, and genuine
miracles are Biblical. As a matter of fact, so many
human conditions are beyond natural and scientific
solutions; these are distinct situations for divine
intervention.

We thank God that numerous creative
miracles of which some testimonies are incredible)
have been happening by His special grace in our
ministry as we travel across the globe over the
years. So, no matter how hopeless your situation is,
all you need to pick-up your own miracle is to have a
good reason why God should visit your case.

If you can take the first step by becoming born-
again, you would have won the love and compassion
of God. If you follow that up with total obedience to
the word of God and strong faith in the Name of
Jesus, your case becomes stronger. If you will dare
to become a witness for Jesus, telling everyone
around you of His love, goodness and mercy then
your case becomes very strong. Finally, if you would
continuously knock on the door of heaven through
your fervent prayers, you automatically become a
sure candidate for a miracle.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES TUESDAY, 3RD FEBRUARY. HE'S COMING BACK AGAIN.

Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book (Revelation 22:7).

Some people wonder why we preach the Gospel the way we do all around the world with so much urgency, fervency, and passion. First, it’s because the Master gave us a mandate to evangelize the world before He comes back. He said in Luke 19:13, “...occupy till I come” ; that means keep working; keep preaching the Gospel and leading men and women into righteousness.
In Matthew 28:19-20, the Master instructed, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” He left us with a message; a message for the whole world about what He came to do in the earth, so that when He comes back, many will be prepared for Him, and go with Him. Halleluiah!

That’s why we’re preaching. We’re not just talking, or merely holding “religious” programmes. This isn’t just to get people excited about Christianity; no! It’s about Jesus Christ and His living message: that He came to die for us, and that God raised Him from the dead, and that He ascended into heaven, and He’s alive today, and will come back one day, very soon.
How ready are you for the Master’s soon return? You might ask, “When, and how soon is He coming back?” He’s coming very soon; a lot sooner than many realize. All the things He told us will happen before He comes are happening exactly the same way He said they would. There aren’t too many signs or events left to be fulfilled before the Master’s soon return.

This is why we must keep preaching the Gospel, letting men and women all over the world know that the end is near, the Master is coming again. He was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin, unto salvation (Hebrews 9:28).

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your grace upon the Church of Jesus Christ to effectively proclaim the Gospel and establish your righteousness in the hearts of men and women all around the world in these last days. Through the preaching and teaching of your Gospel of righteousness, the lost around us, and in the regions beyond, are snatched from destruction and damnation, into the glorious liberty of the sons of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

OPEN HEAVEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH GOD BY: PST EA ADEBOYE DATE: TUESDAY FEB 3RD 2015

THEME:
LET THE FIRE FALL

Memorise:
In every thing give thanks: for this is the
will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
BIBLE READING:
1KINGS 18:36-39
36,
And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the
evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near,
and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel,
let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel,
and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all
these things at thy word.
37:
Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may
know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast
turned their heart back again.
38:
Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the
burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and
the dust, and licked up the water that was in the
trench.
39:
And when all the people saw it, they fell on their
faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the
LORD, he is the God.

Bible in one year
Jeremiah 26-27
Acts 20:1-16
Message:
The term "fire of God" is often used symbolically in
the Bible to portray the presence of God, the Power
of God, His judgement, His purifying work and as His
emblem of the anointing. In today's Bible reading, the
fire of God was presented as a symbol of His
presence and power. It is highly desirable to witness
the presence of God, the outpouring of His anointing
and the manifestation of His power.
Whenever God
decides to reveal Himself through any one of these
means, natural laws become temporarily suspended,
and miracles, signs and wonders of great magnitude
always occur. Consequently, the children of God
should always seek such special opportunities to
experience the supernatural.
However, if you want the fire of God to fall, you must
be ready to pay the price. You can see in today's
reading that Prophet Elijah took some deliberate
steps before He called for the fire of God to fall.

First,
he waited for the appointed time of worship before he
commenced with the repairs of the altar of the Lord
that was broken down. He then rebuilt the altar in the
Name of the Lord. Next, he did everything orderly and
meticulously, following divine instructions.
Thereafter, he called upon the Name of the Lord in
prayer and thanksgiving, and God answered by fire.
If you want God's fire to fall, you must first repair
and rebuild the altar of God in your life. You must
present yourself before God as a living sacrifice
without any iota of blemish (Romans 12:1), and be a
true worshipper who worships God in spirit and in
truth. You need to adhere strictly to the instructions
of God as contained in the Bible, and then you must
learn to wait patiently for God.
Note that there was a
waiting before the fire fell at Pentecost (Acts 1:4).
The benefits of the fire of God cannot be over
emphasised. It brings overflowing anointing, divine
revelation, healing, miracles, signs and wonders.

It leads to the suspension of the laws of nature and a
transition into the realm of the supernatural. It makes
you a terror to the kingdom of darkness and a true
servant and representative of the Most High God.
May the fire of God fall mightily upon you today in the
Name of Jesus.
Prayer Point:
Jesus, You are the one who baptizes with the Holy
Ghost and with fire; please saturate my life with your
fire.
Amen.
