World Trade Center AbujaInternational trading complex to open next year
The new World Trade Center complex which is scheduled to be opened next year after the completion of the first phase is about to be the heart of the country’s capital, Abuja.Proposed view of the world trade center
Who knew Nigeria was building a world trade center complex in Abuja?
The
new World Trade Center complex which is scheduled to be opened next
year after the completion of the first phase is about to be the heart of
the country’s capital, Abuja.
"One of the missions of WTC Abuja is to improve trade relations between Nigeria and the rest of the world," Vinay Mahtani, CEO of the site's developer, Lagos-based Churchgate Group, told CNN.
"For
example, it will enable international businesses to make investments in
our community. Ties will be forged between government agencies,
non-governmental organizations and international corporations, and the
additional business that is captured within the walls of the World Trade
Center will provide tax revenues to government which can be used to
improve the welfare of the people."
Funded by
local and foreign financial institutions, as well as private investors,
to the tune of 200 billion Nigerian Naira, or just over $1 billion, the
WTC Abuja will be the largest mixed-use development in West Africa. It
will join a network of 323 locations in 89 countries, started in 1970
with the inauguration of the first World Trade Center in New York City.
According to CNN,
WTC Abuja has been under development since 2010, on a lot spanning over
six million square feet in the Central Business Area of the capital.
The
location offers easy access to the city center and the airport, with a
dual-carriage highway surrounding the site and a new light rail system
currently under construction.
On the Ups and Downs of the project Adekunle Salau,
Ernst & Young Advisory Leader for West Africa noted that though
Abuja and Lagos will benefit from this project, but it boost prices of
properties in the already priced capital.
"There is no doubt that Abuja and Lagos will benefit tremendously from high end commercial and residential real estates," Salau told CNN.
"My
expectation is that if this is executed to plan, Abuja will be able to
host world class conferences and compete favorably with Johannesburg and
Cape town for international events.
"It
may also moderate the cost of hotels and rents in Abuja, but more
importantly it should add significantly to the economic development of
the capital, creating employment in the service and retail sectors.
"The
downside is that it can also be artificially priced, thereby continuing
heat up the already high cost of Abuja properties and secondly, the
amenities may not be developed to the quality expected from the WTA
brand."
Abuja is Nigeria's capital city, a
role for which it was purposely built starting in 1976, much in the same
way as Brasilia for Brazil and Canberra for Australia. Its physical
location in the middle of the country is a good metaphor for its neutral
role of unity.

Fast and Furious 7 See the scenes Paul Walker acted from the grave
Following the sudden death of Paul Walker before the filing of Fast and
Furious 7 was complete, a company found a way to bring him back from the
dead to complete his work.
Movie lovers, especially Fast and Furious fans were heartbroken when Paul Walker died in 2013.
He died in a car crash in his friend before he had completed his scenes for Fast and Furious 7.
Weta Digital, the company that brought Walker to life on the big screen thanks to visual effects, has revealed the extensive work.
It has also been revealed which scenes that Walker appeared in were created digitally.
Weta, which ended up doing 350 shots almost all of them with Walker, referenced old footage from outtakes of Furious 7 as
well as the rest of the franchise to nail Walker’s expressions, not
having the luxury of having a digital scan of Walker to use.
According to Variety, the team had to seek out Walker’s brothers, Cody and Caleb, in addition to Walker’s double John Brotherton, scanning them and “reapplying them to the Walker digital models they had created.”
Weta visual effects supervisor Martin Hill said
“We
knew we were doing something special for the filmmakers, the fans, the
family — and for Paul’s legacy. We wanted to give him the sendoff that
he deserved.”

8 Things You Need To Tell Your Children Everyday
Since we are such great influences on the lives of our children, it is important to encourage them and express our love not only with the words “I love you”, but also through our actions and examples.
Majority of children see their parents as great mentors and heroes. It’s no wonder that many children, when asked what they want to be when they grow up, report that they wish to go into the same profession as their parents.
Do not miss the many opportunities you have each day to encourage and build your little ones. Make sure they grow up feeling loved and fully capable of pursuing and living their dreams.
Here are eight things you should be saying to your children every day:
1. You can do it
Small tasks that need to be done at school or around the house may seem difficult, or impossible, to your little ones because they have a limited view of their abilities. At this point, it is important for parents to encourage their children and remind them that they have the capability to do what is required of them.
2. Do not give up
Encourage your children to persist even in the face of all the difficulties that may arise in their lives. Remind them not to give up, but to believe. Repeat this phrase whenever you can so your children will always remember the importance of persevering.
3. I believe in you
Show your children that you are their number one fan. Show them you truly believe in their capabilities and know the potential they possess.
4. You are smart
A child that feels less intelligent than others will often surrender at the first sign of difficulty, claiming they are simply “not smart enough.” To prevent your children from falling into this defeated outlook, praise their intelligence whenever you can.
5. We learn with practice
When you first start something, you are often faced with major difficulties. However, over time, practice makes everything look simpler. The task or problem itself has not changed, but the ability to perform has been increased. Make sure your children learn this early on.
6. Always do your best
It is important to teach your children that in any situation they find themselves they should always perform to the very best of their abilities and never accept anything less.
7. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
This old saying is an important value to the present day where society dictates the rule of advantage. Children need to learn to be kind and gentle from an early age to be better prepared to go out into the world someday.
8. I’m always here whenever you need me
Parents should create a feeling of safety and security for their children. Your kids need to know and feel that they will never be alone because their parents and family members will always be there for them.
The little things you do every day can instill values in your children that will help them grow into confident and happy children and future adults. Be sure to teach your little ones whenever you have a chance.

during his trip to Africa next month from November 25 to 27 and then

The trip will surely pose security risks that have largely been absent on Francis' foreign trips to date but high security measure are been put in place to ensure the safety of the pope.
Thailand's Vegetarian Festival 10 Horrific pictures from the world's most dangerous and biggest piercing festival [Graphic Content]
Gruesome images have emerged from an annual vegetarian festival in

Gruesome images have emerged from an annual
vegetarian festival in Thailand where attendees pierce their faces with
sharp objects and swords.
The ritual, which is
considered a tradition at the nine-day Taoist celebration has little to
do with food, instead an assault for the most devout, on the body
itself.
Celebrated among
ethnic Chinese Thai, Thailand's Vegetarian Festival shows striking
images of men and women with their cheeks and mouths pierced with large
blades, needles, guns and other objects.
Other
ceremonies are also held to invoke the gods such as fire walking and
acts of self-mortification. The spectacular scenes attracting thousands
of tourists each year.
The Phuket Vegetarian
Festival is a colourful event held over a nine-day period in October,
celebrating the Chinese community's belief that abstinence from meat and
various stimulants during the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar
will help them obtain good health and peace of mind.
Though the origins
of the festival are unclear, it is commonly thought that the festival
was bought to Phuket by a wandering Chinese opera group who fell ill
with malaria while performing on the island.
They decided to
adhere to a strict vegetarian diet and pray to the Nine Emperor Gods to
ensure purification of the mind and body. To everyone's amazement the
opera group made a complete recovery. The people celebrated by holding a
festival that was meant to honour the gods as well as express the
people's happiness at surviving what was, in the 19th century, a fatal
illness.
Subsequently the
festival has grown and developed into a spectacular yearly event that is
attended by thousands with participants flying in from China and other
Asian destinations.
